Super Star Krishna had created wonders in Tollywood by doing "James Bond" movies in Telugu like "Gudachari 116", James Bond 777 etc. Later he used the same James Bond concept in many films and tasted success with all those movies. Many top heroes tried to do this role, but failed to impress audience as Tollywood audience believed that Super Star Krishna will ape suit that role. After few years no hero expressed his interest to do these type of movies. But now the latest news is that Mahesh babu has shown his interest to act as James Bond.
Few months back, Surender Reddy planned to make a James Bond backdrop film with Mahesh, but Mahesh was not satisfied with the script narrated by Surender Reddy. Now the latest news is that, Mahesh Babu agreed to do Bond film with Meher Ramesh.
The latest news is that R.R. Movie Makers is ready to produce a movie with Mahesh and Meher Ramesh combination. The movie would be on James Bond concept and taking would be of international standards. If everything goes right, this high budget film will go on sets in the second half of 2011.
Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu are known as the non-media friendly actors as they always keep away from the interviews and interaction with media. Even they don’t participate actively in film related functions. But they will always stand up when any issue rises and if Telugu film industry is in some sort of trouble.
Currently Tollywood is facing hell lot of problems due to the differences between Employees Federation and Producers council. All the shootings and prost production work is stalled as is from five days. Producers, Directors and Actors committees came together and trying to resolve the problem.
Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu represented actors committee and gave their valuable suggestions to face this problem. Hope the issue will be solved soon.
Mahesh Babu, who is having torrid time at the box office these days, has finally learnt a lesson from his debacles. Mahesh Babu’s films are going out of control in terms of budget, which is resulting in commercial flops.
His last three outings, Sainikudu, Athidhi and Khaleja budgets overshoot and that resulted in the colossal failure of those films. Despite having average content, Athidi and Khaleja were ended up as flops due to high budget.
On the other hand, Pokiri film is made with a limited budget and struck the right chords and we know the result. Athidhi and Khaleja films would have been commercial hits if made with the same budget as that of Pokiri.
Mahesh is aware of this fact and is now having everything in control for Dookudu. Although it is not his home production, Mahesh is being watchful about the budget to avoid commercial failure. Srinu Vytla too is known for making films within the estimated budget and if everything goes as per plans, Dookudu is going to be a hit even if the film is not up the expectations!
Though he did a big mistake with 'Khaleja', the romantic action hero is trying to erase those bad remarks with some good work. His decision regarding his fellow Hero, Rebel Star Prabhas is rightly a decent example of that.
News is that, Prabhas new film in the direction Dasarath is expected to finish its shoot by mid December and producer 'Dil Raju' is planning to release the movie as a Sankranthi treat. The giant producer has requested Superstar Mahesh Babu to give the movie title 'Mr Perfect', which is registered by Surender Reddy for Mahesh. Without any second thought, Mahesh has appealed to Surender Reddy and RR Movie Makers to release the title for Prabhas-Dasarath's film. Dil Raju, other unit members and fans of Prabhas are all in praises for Mahesh and co.
Industry folks are saying that Mahesh has learned a lot from the negative effects of 'title-grabbing' with his 'Mahesh Khaleja' and became a real super star. Though he has given up the title 'Mr.Perfect' to Prabhas, he is the real Mr.Perfect for taking such a good move. A senior director stated that Nandamuri Kalyan Ram should also follow Mahesh if he gets any such opportunity, as he too knows the effect of 'Kalyan Ram Kathi' very well.
It is official now — like it was reported first by this newspaper. Director Shankar will be starting work on his next, highly anticipated bilingual movie — the remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots starring Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and Madhavan. Tentatively titled 3 Rascals, this movie will be produced by Gemini Film Circuit (GFC) in both the south Indian languages. According to sources, the title for the Tamil version of the movie may be changed later. The three ‘rascals’ in the Tamil version are Vijay, Jiiva and Srikanth (Sriram to Telugu audience), the latter two will be featured in the Telugu version too along with Tollywood Super Star Mahesh Babu. Ileana will play Kareena Kapoor’s role in both the remake versions.
Elaborating on the project, the executive producer of the film Raju Easwaran of GFC, says, “We are shooting at one of the popular engineering colleges in Dehradun from December 6 onwards and will be shooting for both versions simultaneously over a period of 11 days.” This means the entire ensemble cast comprising Vijay, Mahesh Babu, Ileana, Jiiva, Srikanth and Sathyaraj will be camping at Dehradun where Shankar has decided to film a few talkie portions and also a part of a song which has already been composed by Harris Jayaraj. “It is going to be a challenging task for us,” adds Raju.
Ask him about the rumours floating in Tollywood circles about Super Star Mahesh Babu not being too pleased with the other two ‘rascals’ (actors) for the movie, apparently he felt that since both Jiiva and Srikanth are basically from Kollywood the movie would look like the Telugu star is acting in a dubbed version of the Tamil movie! A surprised Raju replies, “This is news to me! I do not want to talk about something which I am unaware of and as you said it must be just rumours.” Unlike Shankar’s earlier movies, 3 Rascals, which has Manoj Paramahamsa as the cinematographer will be completed at double the speed and will release during the summer, adds Raju.
